ARHO Waysides

Project Overview : Spring 2010

Arlington House: The Robert E. Lee Memorial, in conjunction with the Arlington National Cemetery, has presented the opportunity for American University graduate students to research and produce wayside interpretive signs. Jen and I are privileged to be apart of this project and to continue the work of the last practicum group from the spring 2009 semester. These signs will be strategically placed throughout the shared landscape of the memorial and the cemetery. The objective of our project is to use these signs to interpret the history of the site. Jen and I have divided the remaining prospective signs and locations between us and it is our goal to complete all research and interpretive design by the end of the project. We will conform to NPS guidelines and standards for wayside signs while using Adobe digital programs to create the sign layout.
