Oral History

In the fall 2010 semester, I was enrolled in Dr. Henson’s Oral History Seminar 667. There were several course assignments but the largest project was to conduct oral history interviews for the purpose of a research paper. This course taught oral history methodology and historiography as well as prepared us for future fieldwork. My research project was on Women on the Home Front during WWII and I conducted interviews with several relatives who were young, married couples at that time. This was not only a class project, but it quickly became an opportunity to collect my family history– something I’ve always wanted to do but was not sure how to go about it.
